APPLIED PRECLINICAL SCIENCE

EG-LAS Research & Development

The R&D division drives EG-LAS’s applied preclinical research agenda — designing and executing animal models, wound-healing and surgical studies, and pharmacological trials that generate scientifically sound, ethically governed data for the research community.

Driving Preclinical Innovation

Our **Research & Development** division bridges the critical gap between early-stage laboratory chemical discovery and clinical-phase pharmaceutical trials. We collaborate closely with Cairo University and leading national institutions.

Focus Areas

Study design, IACUC-compliant protocol development, surgical and pharmacological animal models, and cross-institutional research collaboration in laboratory animal science.

Preclinical Capabilities

Detailed list of specialized preclinical methodologies governed by our research experts.

1. Study Design & Ethical Review

Structuring preclinical studies from hypothesis to protocol, with ethical review built in from the start.

2. Surgical & Wound-Healing

Designing and executing surgical animal models, including wound-healing and tissue-repair studies.

3. Pharmacological Studies

Extract-based and pharmacological intervention studies evaluating therapeutic candidates in animal models.

4. Data Analysis & Reporting

Rigorous statistical analysis and scientific reporting that stands up to peer review.

5. IACUC Documentation

Full ethical approval documentation prepared for Cairo University’s IACUC and equivalent bodies.

6. Cross-Division Collaboration

Working alongside URAF and CTC-LAS to move research from design through facility execution.

Representative Research Areas

Standard disease and physiological pathways supported inside our labs.

A. Wound Healing Models

Tissue-defect and repair studies evaluating healing dynamics under controlled surgical conditions.

B. Endocrine & Hormonal

Induced-model studies examining hormonal conditions and candidate therapeutic responses.

C. Plant-Extract Interventions

Evaluating natural and plant-derived compounds as therapeutic interventions in animal models.

D. Pathology Models

Species-appropriate models investigating organ-specific conditions and treatment response.

Ethical Governance & RFQ Submission

Every R&D study is designed and reviewed under **Cairo University’s Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC)** framework — ensuring welfare, scientific validity, and regulatory compliance are considered together from the earliest planning stage.
